John 'Pablo' Thompson

Manager/Right Back

John 'Pablo' Thompson

Once described by former manager and founder Mike Uwins as "The beating scouse heart of the team", Pablo has been a fixture in the first team since his debut in 2005. The right-back has only missed one game through injury since his debut, making 15 starts. His only goal for the Goths came in a 7-1 reversal on his debut, where he cheekily picked the ball up after a foul and slotted home in the 90th minute.

He had another infamous penalty moment in April 2010 during the Goths penalty shoot out win, he was the only player in black to miss that day. The next day he changed his profile picture on Facebook to that of Gareth Southgate, the England defender who also hit a weak penalty in a European Championship game against Germany in 1996.

He has won the 'El Gothico' match against rivals Athletico Gazette 3 times, as a player, a captain and as a manager.

Now in charge of first team affairs, he can still be found giving himself a quick run out when the team requires it.
